An interesting look at the neighboring country and the commercial vehicle market in Lithuania. The first surprising issue is that with the population constituting slightly more than 7% of the Polish population, registrations of new trucks GVW > 5.9 tonS account for 29% of Polish registrations, and if we take into account used vehicles, this indicator is close to 45%!
Lithuanian registrations of trucks and tractor units recorded a significant y/y increase of around 50% for new and used vehicles.
If international transport is an important branch of the Polish economy, it is even more important for Lithuania. The vast majority of registered vehicles are truck tractors – over 92%.
The leader of the truck market is Mercedes ahead of Volvo and DAF.

As you might expect from the results of trucks, semi-trailers and trailers also record a strong increase in registrations, with new products by 23% and used products by over 70%.
The clear leader, similarly to Poland, is Schmitz Cargobull ahead of Krone and Koegel, while Wielton is not very popular in this country despite the proximity and potential of this market. Semi-trailers definitely prevail in the structure of vehicles.
The main directions of individual imports are Germany and Poland.
